* After a long and exhausting week in London I spent this weekend in bed mostly. Because it was a very long week and I was quite drained afterwards. Starting last Sunday I had a final six days in Finchley to wrap up the SS 2006 season and to preview - along with my colleagues - the AW 2006 collection prototypes and to review the early SS 2007 drawings. More exhausting it was this time because there was also an emotional side to this. After four years in this company and working in the group it felt a bit as if I was leaving friends and family behind me. And it seemed to me that they're going to be knee-deep in sh** for some of their future. As a highlight for me my boss ('Buddah' as we call him..) also asked to do a final exit presentation to review my last four years of work and to give an outlook according to my perspective. The 45 minutes presentation went down great but I'm in doubt that things will really change. But - and that's new for me - none of this will be my business anymore...
* London in itself was great again and will be dearly missed. Almost as a final 'thanks' we got to stay in Hampstead instead of Finchley and that alone made my week. Lots of fairwell dinners, shopping and drinking took place and what better place for this than Hampstead as your base!
* What else is new? Finally got my laptop - a brand new 12" Apple IBook! After being without a computer of my own for almost 10 years I was tired of transferring my personal data once again to a possible DellToshibaIBMAcer thing. Those all look so crap! And now that I've received it I cannot tell you how much the Apple was appreciated. The OS X operating system, ITunes and most of all IPhoto, which I haven't worked with before. Will there be an IPod next? The new Nano thing in black? We'll have to wait and see.
* New CDs and books and magazines galore. There still is that thing in the back of my head that tells me that I'm going to miss London massively. And shopping there will be one of these things.
Of course whilst you might not be in London so frequently from a work perspective there is always a place for you to stay, (for free as well!!), and it will be R&R only on every visit from now on!!

plus it is only a 150minute train ride from sunny Dartmouth, your other UK base!
